Maersk Line to shut service from Chennai to Mediterranean ports

Exporters and importers shipping cargo containers directly to Mediterranean destinations through the Chennai port will have to re-route them via Colombo, Salalah or Singapore from October as Maersk Line, world’s biggest container shipping line, has decided to shut its weekly direct service which was started in February.

Outcome of the Trilateral Talks on the Implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement/Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area

Joint Operational Conclusions by the European Commission, the Russian Federation and Ukraine following trilateral talks on the Implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement/Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area. This will be provisionally be applied on the 1st January 2016

Taking note of the current unsatisfactory developments of the trade flows, the participants have reaffirmed their commitment towards achieving practical arrangements that would contribute to maintaining open economic relations with a view to enabling economic growth.

Commodity weakness hurting trade volumes
The decline in commodity prices has limited trade finance volumes and the number of deals taking place. The slump in commodity prices has had a significant know on effect in trade financing volumes
