EU to crackdown on illegal firearms after Paris attacks

(BRUSSELS) - The European Union said Wednesday it will push through plans to tackle the trade in illegal firearms, ahead of a crisis meeting of interior ministers in Brussels following the Paris attacks.
EU Migration Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos also urged member states to make better use of intelligence-sharing tools to protect Europe's borderless Schengen area, which has come under scrutiny after the attacks.

Brussels also aims to have agreement by the end of the year on a controversial plan for the US-style sharing of air passenger name records, regarded as a key step for maintaining security within the passport-free Schengen zone, he said.

Sanctions and Embargoes

With the increase of sanctions being placed on overseas countries which has recently peaked at 44 countries, this and with the introduction of the USA to the EU next year it is even more important for your organisation to prepare for this now before the 1st January 2016. Felixstowe Trade College will work with you to install the necessary process/procedures in place to enable staff to carry out 'due dilligence'  to avoid in the more serious cases criminal prosecutions.
