HMRC UCC/AEO Updates 7th November 2015
UCC / BTI Update
HMRC have confirmed the new HS codes will be in operation from the 1st January 2015 with a short transition period to allow traders to make the necessary changes.
During
the first period of 2016 HMRC will be linked to the EU Customs however this is
planned to occur during the early part of 2016 and well before 1st
May 2016.
Box 44
of the entry will require a declaration that the importer has a Binding Tariff
Code however during
the first stages it is unlikely to be monitored in depth.
There will
be also minor changes to the application for (BTI) and this will include EORI
number which is expected to be mandatory.
AEO certification will allow benefits in certain entries, lower deferment costs with a general increase in the speed of clearance.
Further information will be available on our website www.felixstowe-ac.co.uk under 'consultancy on Monday 9th November or speak to us directly on our dedicated phone line 01394 458554
